High-Volume Temporary Recruitment

The Challenge

The Results People were appointed to support a major distribution centre in Warrington with the mobilisation of a new temporary workforce ahead of a critical trading period.

The requirement involved recruiting and onboarding large volumes of warehouse operatives, pickers, packers and MHE operators within a tight timescale.

Several challenges needed to be overcome, including:

  • Recruiting 150 temporary workers within 30 days
  • Launching recruitment activity immediately
  • Limited public transport access to the site
  • Maintaining candidate quality at significant volume
  • Ensuring operational readiness ahead of peak demand

The client required a recruitment partner capable of delivering quickly without compromising workforce quality.

Our Approach

To support the mobilisation, The Results People implemented a dedicated recruitment strategy focused on speed, quality and fulfilment.

Dedicated Recruitment Team

A specialist recruitment team was assigned before the contract commenced, ensuring full focus on delivery without impacting existing client accounts.

Onsite Recruitment Hub

An onsite office, interview facilities and assessment centre were established, enabling candidates to be processed efficiently while allowing close collaboration with the client team.

Multi-Channel Candidate Attraction

Recruitment activity included:

  • Major online job boards
  • Targeted social media advertising
  • Community engagement campaigns
  • Local leaflet distribution campaigns
  • Candidate referral activity

This approach ensured maximum visibility within the local labour market while extending candidate reach beyond traditional recruitment methods.

Candidate Screening and Onboarding

Every applicant completed a structured screening process before progressing.

Candidates were fully briefed on:

  • Role responsibilities
  • Shift patterns
  • Site expectations
  • Working environment

Interview and onboarding sessions were extended into evenings and weekends, allowing the recruitment campaign to operate at pace without compromising quality.

Overcoming Location Challenges

One of the biggest challenges was the site's limited public transport access.

To overcome this, The Results People implemented transport solutions through strategic partnerships, allowing recruitment activity to reach a significantly wider candidate pool than would otherwise have been possible.

Results Delivered

The recruitment campaign successfully delivered:

  • 150+ temporary workers recruited and onboarded within 30 days
  • 900+ applications generated
  • 450+ interviews and assessments completed
  • Talent pool of over 300 qualified candidates created
  • Fulfilment rates exceeding 99% during the first three months

The mobilisation was delivered successfully and supported the client's peak trading operation without disruption.
